PLAYER TO WATCH Monroe, the Preseason MAAC Player of the Year, leads the Bobcats with 15.7 points per game in 2024-25 (as of Jan. 26). He also currently leads the conference in steals (53) and de-fensive rebounds per game (5.95). Monroe already has six double-doubles in 2024-25. An All-MAAC performer last year during his first season in Hamden, the junior forward played in all 34 games for Quinnipiac a season ago – stuffing the stat sheet with 12.9 PPG, 6.9 RPG, 1.8 APG, 1.8 SPG, 1.0 BPG. He posted 14.4 PPG & 7.2 RPG in MAAC play. Monroe was the only player that finished inside the league's Top 5 in rebounds, blocks, and steals. He scored 10+ points 25 different times, and registered five separate double-doubles. NOTABLE ALUMNI Cameron Young – the former Quinnipiac AP All American/2018-19 MAAC Player of the Year – is currently playing professionally for Hapoel Haifa of the Israeli Basketball Premier League. Young also played for Runa Basket (Moscow) of VTB United League in 2023-24. He spent the 2021-22 and the 2022-23 seasons in the NBA G League, averag-ing 16.2 PPG over 55 contests. Young played for the Nevada Ignite, the Cleve-land Charge and the Memphis Hustle during that span. Young recorded a MAAC-best 23.5 points (No. 12 nationally) to go along with 5.1 rebounds per game, shooting 48.2 percent from the field and 43.7 per cent from three-point distance as a graduate student for the Bobcats in 2018-19. He scored a Quinnipiac Division I single-season record 728 total points, breaking his own record (622) from 2017-18.

HEAD COACH TOM PECORA Tom Pecora – a veteran with 16 years of experience as a head coach at the Division I level – is currently in his second season at the helm of the Quinnipiac University program in 2024-25. Pecora completed his seventh season in total with the Bobcats last year (previously served as Associate HC from 2017-2023). He led QU to a record-breaking 2023-24 campaign during his first year in charge, eventually earning MAAC Coach of the Year honors after guiding the Bobcats to the top seed in the conference. Quinnipiac set a new program record for wins (24) during the benchmark season, as the Bobcats went 15-5 in league play to capture the program’s first-ever MAAC Regular Season Championship. Pecora also served as the head coach at Hofstra for nine years (2001-2010) and at Fordham for five seasons (2010-15). Prior to taking over the head coaching position at Hofstra, Pecora served as the associate head coach under Jay Wright for seven seasons, the last two of which resulted in America East Conference titles and NCAA Tournament berths.
