PLAYER TO WATCH Angel Parker, a sophomore guard, has been a standout for the Purple Eagles so far this season. Parker almost notched a triple-double in Niagara’s 81-63 victory over Iona on Jan. 2. Parker dropped a career-high 26 points while also setting career-highs in rebounds with 12 and assists with nine. Parker leads the Purple Eagles in scoring and rebounding, averaging 14.8 points per game and 7.0 rebounds per game. NOTABLE ALUMNI In her five-year career with the Purple Eagles, Victoria Rampado rewrote the Niagara women’s basketball record book. In her final season in 2017–18, Rampado broke both the Niagara women’s basketball scoring and rebounding records. She finished her career with 1,823 points and 909 rebounds and was named the 2017–18 MAAC Player of the Year. Rampado, who was named the MAAC Rookie of the Year in 2013–14, is in the top ten in the Niagara women’s record book in scoring, scoring average, field goals, field goal attempts, free throws, free throw attempts, blocks, rebounds and games played. Rampado graduated fromNiagara with an education degree and is currently back home in Canada pursuing her teaching career.

HEAD COACH JADA PIERCE Jada Pierce, who has 23 years of collegiate coaching experience at the Division I and II levels, begins her sixth season as head coach of the Niagara University women’s basketball program. Pierce has built a reputation as a dynamic player developer while creating effective defensive schemes throughout her coaching career with stops as an assistant at programs in the Atlantic 10, Patriot League, Northeast Conference, MAAC and America East as well as head coaching experience at the Division II level. Pierce has coached 30 all-conference players, one Player of the Year, three Defensive Players of the Year, one Sixth Player of the Year, 53 all-academic honorees, two WNBA players and assisted four programs to five NCAA Tournament berths.
