Manhattan College, located in the Riverdale section of the Bronx, New York, is an independent Catholic institution of higher learning that embraces qualified men and women of all faiths, cultures, and traditions. Established in 1853 by the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools, the College continues to draw its inspiration from the heritage of John Baptist de La Salle, the innovator of modern pedagogy and patron saint of teachers. Manhattan College offers an extensive and varied set of undergraduate and graduate programs throughout six schools of study – the School of Liberal Arts, O’Malley School of Business, School of Education and Health, School of Engineering, School of Science and School of Continuing and Professional Studies. The College offers more than 100 majors, minors, graduate programs and advanced certificates, as well as degrees that can be earned fully online or combined with a traditional classroom experience. At Manhattan College, students have the ability to have immersive, hands-on experiences in New York City and beyond. Students choose to study abroad for a semester, conduct a one-on-one research project with a faculty member, or pursue an internship. Many students take advantage of the Center for Student Success, which hosts academic support services, tutoring sessions and career workshops, that help students achieve their full potential.
